We realize that deciding
to breed your mare is a big undertaking. For that reason we would
like to welcome you to view our breeding records for Cals Special
Edition. Breeding your mare to a proven stallion takes
the guess work out of your breeding decision. When you breed to
Cals Special Edition you can feel confident you are dealing with
professionals that have your and your mare's best interest in mind.
The conception records below are through the 2003 breeding season.
There are 6 years of breeding records below and many mares.
They aren't just based off a handful of mares and "luck".
Casey has continued to ship the same quality semen all over the USA in
the years since I consolidated these records.

Since we began standing Cals Special
Edition in the 90's a lot has changed about color genetics. I am
going to be adding a lot of information to this site about color
genetics in the next few months, but for now I want to list what Cals
Special Edition's color genetics are so you can try and determine what
color foals you may get.
Red Factor - Ee
This was easy to determine as he has at
least one big "E" since he has black points (mane and tail). The
fact that he has sired Palominos and Chestnut/Sorrels shows that he also
has a "e". If he was "EE" he would be homozygous for black (he
could still be a buckskin and be "EE", also he could be a bay or a
black). If he was "ee" he could not be a buckskin, bay, or black.
He would have to be a red based color like a Palomino or a
Chestnut/Sorrel.
Agouti - Aa
This was also determined by what he looks
like and the foals he has sired. The Agouti is what distributes
the black pigments to the points (bays and buckskin) or in the absence
of the Agouti then the horse is black or Smokey Black (if it possesses
the creme gene). Since Casey is a Buckskin it's a given he has at
least one "A". But since he has sired Black foals than he is not
"AA" but rather "Aa". He is heterozygous for Agouti not
Homozygous. An "AA" horse would always throw a Bay or Buckskin (if
the base coat was black not red, Agouti does not effect Red horses) not
Black. So if you have a red (Palomino or Chestnut/Sorrel) mare you
won't know what she has unless you have had her tested or she has had a
lot of foals.
Creme - nCr
Casey possess a single dilute gene.
If he was a double dilute he would be a Perlino.
If you are unsure of what combination of
genes your mare may have, feel free to call me and maybe we can
determine it from her pedigree and any foals she may have already had.
